The Artist

seema-finish212-971…a painter paints beautiful pictures and perfects the skill…but an artist is one who sees the world without a border…always exploring to capture a moment…to freeze a moment forever on a canvas…

Seema is such an artist, always seeking to explore the images that frequent her thoughts. It is her casualness as an artist, poet and researcher that drives her to always venture deeper into the world of art. It is that enthusiasm that captivated me to guide her into the realm of “Symbolic Expressions”, a state of art that demands an aptitude to be a story teller and an inventor of unique ethereal forms.

Art sessions with her were more about discovering the realm of the unseen world. She is a keen listener yet someone who is filled with questions.  This journey made us stretch the usual border of painting, making art a conversation.

Her works that vary from figures to symbols to history, to her concern and care for science, she paints quiet effortlessly threading her views and statements onto the canvas in her own special way.

With a law background and a passion for human rights, her path in art is as clear as someone who is a voice of her own thoughts.

An artist with a sensitivity and soulful commitment towards her work, she is on the right track to becoming a “unique” artist who I believe will get closer to her self and share her thoughts and continue this journey of art and self discovery.

Biodata

Born in 1972, in small town Malacca, my childhood was filled with whimsical days frolicking in the garden, imaginary friends and great escapades in my mind!
Then as life took over and a move to a bigger city followed soon after, I focused my mind on educational pursuits. Graduating with an LLB (Hons) I went on to carve a path in the corporate world
Ten years after, my heart became restless and there was an inner calling to go back to a world of creativity and imagination.
That calling together with a series of events, led me to chart a journey in the new world of Art. Never have I felt more at home..
